Le petit gar\u00e7on n&rsquo;appr\u00e9cie gu\u00e8re de devoir quitter la belle et grande maison de Berlin pour se retrouver dans une maison isol\u00e9e et triste. De sa chambre, il aper\u00e7oit des hommes, des femmes et des enfants, tous v\u00eatus de pyjamas ray\u00e9s. Mais personne ne veut lui expliquer qui ils sont. Faisant fi des interdits, Bruno part en reconnaissance et se lie d&rsquo;amiti\u00e9 avec Schmuel, un jeune gar\u00e7on de son \u00e2ge qui porte un pyjama ray\u00e9 et vit de l&rsquo;autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la cl\u00f4ture.
